BRANDON C. KALTENBAUGH

 

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-born drummer, songwriter. He currently lives in the Pittsburgh area and is mostly known for his work as a Metal Drummer. Brandon has previously played with various bands, including Hangwire. Hangwire, with Brandon at the kit, won Battle of the Bands, Pittsburgh.  Currently he is playing with Apothis, Vengeful Rift and School of Rock, Castle Shannon.

Drumming began for him when he was 8 years old, using found items in his home, chop sticks and a briefcase, as his kit. Initially, he watched Buddy Rich and Neil Peart. His taste in music has developed hard / classic rock, to where it is today, Metal. Brandon enjoys the stage and plays out often.

Brandon appreciates the fast-paced, challenging and complex nature of the Metal genre, especially for the drums. Major early influences for him were Megadeth, Havok, Slipknot, Dream Theater and Metallica. Currently his influences include Opeth, Gojira, Havok, Immortal, Meshuggah and more.  He presents his double bass prowess and progressive concepts in projects with other passionate, talented musicians
